Application Requirements – Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies, students must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
The student must be enrolled as a full-time student in a higher education programme at any of the three cycles of formal education at our University.¹
First cycle: Associate's and Bachelor's degree
Second cycle: Master's degree
Third cycle: Doctoral degree and medical/dental specialization
First-cycle students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.20/4.00.²
For students whose transcript has not yet been issued at the time of application:³
Students transferring from an associate's degree to a bachelor's degree must have an associate's degree graduation GPA of at least 2.20/4.00.
Preparatory-class and first-year students must have a high school graduation grade of at least 75/100.
Second- and third-cycle students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50/4.00.⁴
For institutions using a 100-point grading system, the equivalent grades specified in the grading conversion table prepared by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) shall be used to determine whether the minimum GPA requirement is met.
Students must have a sufficient number of courses or ECTS credits corresponding to academic workload other than courses in order to participate in Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies.⁵
For master's and doctoral students who have completed their coursework and entered the thesis stage, a 30-ECTS academic workload that does not consist of courses may be included in the Learning Agreement for one academic semester.⁶
If a student has previously participated in higher education mobility activities during the 2014–2020 and/or 2021–2027 Erasmus+ programme periods within their current study cycle, the total duration of the previous mobility periods and the new mobility activity must not exceed 12 months.⁷
¹ In the case of students who have graduated from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine, or Dentistry and have been placed at a higher education institution through the relevant central examinations (TUS, DUS, EUS) to continue their specialist training, students applying for mobility activities under doctoral mobility may not have a student registration number. In such cases, the Erasmus Office verifies during the application and approval process that the applicant is receiving specialist training within the higher education institution, including its hospital or affiliated healthcare facilities.
² This minimum requirement also applies to students enrolled in integrated programmes in which two cycles are completed as a single cycle.
³ For students whose transcripts have not yet been issued at the time of application, the associate's degree graduation grade is taken into consideration for students transferring from an associate's degree programme, while the high school graduation grade is considered for preparatory-class and first-year students.
⁴ If TUS/DUS/EUS examination scores are used in the assessment, these scores must be converted into the grading system used for evaluation. For example, a TUS/DUS/EUS score of 70 must first be converted to the 100-point system and then to the 4-point system.
⁵ According to the European Commission's ECTS Users' Guide, the required workload is 60 ECTS credits for one academic year. For further information, please refer to the ECTS Users' Guide 2015.
⁶ One ECTS credit corresponds to 25–30 hours of workload according to the ECTS Users' Guide 2015.
⁷ Higher education mobility periods completed by the student during the 2014–2020 and/or 2021–2027 Erasmus+ programme periods within their current study cycle are included in the calculation of the total mobility period. Periods spent under similar programmes such as Mevlana, TÜBİTAK, or the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) are not included in this calculation.
