Staff mobility for training enables staff employed at a higher education institution holding an ECHE in Türkiye to participate in training activities at:
Within this scope, staff may attend various forms of training (such as job shadowing, observation periods, and workshops) designed to improve skills related to their current professional tasks.
The host organizations may include enterprises, training centers, research centers, chambers of commerce, foundations, non-profit organizations, schools, professional guidance centers, career counseling services, higher education institutions, and other organizations specified in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide. Eligible enterprises cover all types of organizations regardless of size, legal status, or sector of activity, including entities in the social economy.
Mobility for training is considered a full-time activity, and grants are provided for each full training day. Therefore, the Staff Mobility for Training – Mobility Agreement must include a daily-based training program. The host institution and planned activities must be directly relevant to the participant’s professional field and contribute to their professional development.
The activity must last a minimum of 2 days and, in order to allow more staff to benefit from the available funds, a maximum of 5 days. If, according to the certificate of participation, the mobility is shorter than 2 days (without force majeure), the activity will be deemed invalid and no grant will be paid.
The daily grant amounts for staff mobility vary depending on the host country and are calculated according to the table for the 2024 project period. To ensure broader participation, the maximum grantable period is limited to 5 days.
The travel grant is calculated using the official Distance Calculator provided by the European Commission. The distance between Tokat and the host institution is determined through the calculator, and the corresponding band in the travel grant table is used. The amounts indicated are for round trips and are not multiplied by two. Connecting flights or indirect travel do not affect the calculated distance.

Staff members receive a total grant consisting of daily subsistence and travel support. No additional payments are made for flights, buses, or accommodation. Prior to the mobility, 80% of the total grant is paid, and the remaining 20% is transferred after successful completion of the mobility and submission of all required documents.
Applications are submitted through the TURNA Portal by staff registered at their respective higher education institution, in line with the Council of Higher Education’s circular dated 22.02.2022 and numbered 12994. For each project period, the application and evaluation process is determined by the Erasmus+ Selection and Evaluation Committee and announced on our website. In case selected (principal) participants withdraw or fail to provide an acceptance letter, candidates from the reserve list are given the opportunity to participate.

Staff mobility for training enables:
academic staff employed at a higher education institution holding an ECHE in Türkiye to teach at a higher education institution in a Partner Country (non-Programme Country), or
academic staff employed at a higher education institution in a Partner Country to teach at a higher education institution holding an ECHE in Türkiye.
This activity aims to enhance staff members’ professional skills through training activities such as job shadowing and observation periods. Participation in conferences is not considered an eligible activity under staff mobility for training. In addition, staff employed at a higher education institution holding an ECHE in Türkiye cannot undertake training mobility in enterprises located in Partner Countries. In addition, it is possible for a higher education institution in a Partner Country to invite staff from an eligible enterprise in a Programme Country, and vice versa. Eligible enterprises include all types of public or private organizations, regardless of size, legal status, or sector of activity, including those in the social economy.
All non-EU countries outside the Programme Countries (EU Member States and Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Türkiye) are classified as Partner Countries (non-associated third countries). The list of partner institutions with which our university has agreements for staff teaching mobility can be found in the KA171 Inter-Institutional Agreements List. Please note that the countries and institutions available for application may vary each project period. The minimum duration of the activity is 5 consecutive days (excluding travel) and the maximum is 7 days. A minimum of 8 teaching hours must be delivered. If, according to the certificate of participation, the staff member (without force majeure) delivers fewer than 5 days of activity and/or fewer than the required teaching hours, the activity will be deemed invalid and no grant will be paid.
The daily grant amounts are determined according to the destination country and duration, based on the tables provided for the relevant project period (2023 / 2024).
For both KA131 and KA171, staff members may participate in the activities without receiving a grant. In such cases, applications must still be submitted and will be evaluated together with other applications. The only difference is that the staff member is not included in the budget calculation and does not receive any payment. Not receiving a grant does not exempt staff from the selection process.
