INSURANCE PROCEDURES

Health insurance coverage is mandatory. The insurance policy must cover the entire duration of the study or traineeship mobility and must be valid in the destination country. It should be obtained from an internationally recognized insurance company. The policy should include outpatient and inpatient medical treatment as well as necessary medical repatriation/transportation services.

As insurance coverage and the required amounts of coverage may vary depending on the destination country, students must carefully check the visa application and insurance requirements of the relevant country before purchasing an insurance policy.

A copy of the insurance policy must be submitted to the Erasmus+ Office, and policy information must be included in the Grant Agreement.

For Students Participating in Study Mobility

Students participating in study mobility are responsible for checking the health insurance requirements of the destination country and, where required, obtaining internationally valid health insurance.

Before purchasing the policy, students must check the insurance coverage and minimum coverage amounts required for the visa application of the destination country.

For Students Participating in Traineeship Mobility

Students participating in Erasmus+ traineeship mobility are required to obtain the following types of insurance for the entire mobility period:

• Health Insurance Coverage: Must cover the entire traineeship period and include outpatient medical treatment.

• Liability Insurance Coverage: Must cover any damage or loss that the student may cause at the traineeship/workplace.

• Accident Insurance Coverage: Must provide coverage for accidents that the student may suffer at the traineeship/workplace.

Important Reminder

The validity period of the insurance policy must cover the entire period from the starting date to the ending date of the mobility. If a visa application is required, students must ensure that the policy meets the coverage, minimum coverage amounts, and validity requirements specified by the relevant country's visa application procedures.
